Kembrel Men’s Store Opening

After interning for Kembrel for over a year, I have learned many things about fashion, retail, social media, merchandising and branding. Kembrel’s latest venture was opening a Men’s Shop in the midtown village. With such a small space and an unconventional retail/showroom space. I knew something that needed to be done. So, I suggest to the CEO, Head of Store Operations, Head Buyer Marketing Manager and the Creative Director that we change the space into a men’s only store.

Wrapping up at WOGL

Sadly, my last day at WOGL is coming up, tomorrow actually!  There were many ups and downs at my internship, but overall I believe it to be a successful learning experience.  While I did have “intern responsibilities” like file invoices and sales orders and fold WOGL promo t-shirts, there were other aspects that of the job where I got to learn about advertising sales and promotions.  I’ve met many people at WOGL that I will have a connection with for my future and further ventures in the advertising realm.  This is great cause I basically built my “network” up about 2-fold (YAY!).

Social Media in Action

Today JetBlue airlines surprised it’s Twitter followers by announcing that they would be giving out free airfare in Manhattan. The only perk is that you have to “find” them.

This is a perfect example of how businesses are beginning to incorporate social media into their advertisement and marketing plans. The idea here is not to promote yourself or your products but instead to offer customers a benefit and value for following your brand. This in turn can help with customer loyalty and maybe even word-of-mouth advertisement.
