Hi Everyone,

I’m Christine O’Connell, a rising senior advertising major with an account management track at the Lew Klein College of Media and Communication at Temple University. This summer, I have had the pleasure of interning at Fingerpaint Marketing in Conshohocken, PA as their account service intern. Going into my internship, I was extremely nervous because of all the stereotypes that come along with being an intern. However, the day I started, all of those nerves and speculations went away.

So far, I’ve had a great experience as an intern. Fingerpaint’s intern program is set up in a way that each department has an intern, making us a full team. You are also assigned a manger who serves as a mentor, gives you projects to work on and helps you with your own project as well. I have been fortunate enough to have a manager who is committed to helping me learn and grow as a young professional. This summer, the intern project is for the Transverse Myelitis Association (TMA). The TMA is a nonprofit organization that supports individuals diagnosed with rare neuroimmune disorders that have to do with the central nervous system. Our intern team is helping them with their rebrand and creating an advertising campaign for them as well.

Over the last three weeks, I’ve learned more than I could have ever imagined. Fingerpaint is an amazing company that is dedicated to making sure its intern program is successful. Being a part of agency life has shown me that I am in the exact field I’m meant to be in. I am now confident that I will be successful as an account manager at an advertising agency and I am excited to graduate and actually join the workforce.

Overall, I’ve had an amazing experience, met great people and learned a lot. I’m grateful for the experience I’ve had thus far in my internship and I look forward to the rest of the summer.
