I take walking tours with them sometimes around the city and it makes me really think about how people’s daily jobs are reliant on tourism and it’s wonderful that they can go into this field!

Like what you said in your title, I agree with always asking about what you want and what you need is so important to a field like hospitality and even advertising. It never hurts to ask! However, how do you navigate through your internship with the communications team being a little small? I can relate to that because our external affairs team is also small, but we’re mighty!

Comment on Being Intimidated Was the Best Thing For Me by Millie Nieves https://templeadlib.com/being-intimidated-was-the-best-thing-for-me/comment-page-1/#comment-155191 Sat, 21 Jun 2025 01:57:53 +0000 https://templeadlib.com/?p=26149#comment-155191 I really connected with your post, Sophia! I walked into my internship feeling overwhelmed by industry vocab and unsure of how I could contribute without a technical background. I’ve also found that asking questions, even the “simple” ones, opened the door to learning and built real connections with my coworkers. Your point about communication being essential in B2B is so true. Do you see yourself staying in the B2B industry post grad?

Comment on Building Brand Strategy and Confidence at Par5 Technologies by tuo99507 https://templeadlib.com/building-brand-strategy-and-confidence-at-par5-technologies/comment-page-1/#comment-155190 Fri, 20 Jun 2025 23:24:43 +0000 https://templeadlib.com/?p=26117#comment-155190 Hey Ben, this was a great read. It is great to see how fast you adapted and got put into a more hands on role from observing. I also found that being proactive and asking questions is a great way to know 100% not only what needs to be done, but how or when to do it. Was there any part that you particularly struggled with when starting your internship with Par5 Technologies?

When you’re the first to do something, it’s something that is cool to look back on. I resonate with the mantra and mindset of “creating a seat for yourself” and chasing down what you want because I feel like that’s a lot of how my experience in life has been. Asking for what you want and taking a shot is always worth it. The worst someone can do is say no and you move onto the next opportunity!
It’s very cool that you were able to create flyers and it is really great that you were able to create a brand guideline for different locations. I know that you don’t have a creative concentration, but brand guidelines are so crucial to brands. Where I’m interning at, one specific client my agency has doesn’t have a brand guideline, which isn’t the worst thing in the world, but it’s interesting that we don’t have guidelines set in stone to follow when it comes to that brand. One thing I wish you expanded on was what else the internship consisted of outside of the creative aspect. When reading, it seemed like the creative part of the internship was only part of what you had done because that section starts with “at first”. This leads me to my question: What else did your internship consist of? Did you have tasks that related to your concentration?

Comment on A Year Into My First Internship by tur68287 https://templeadlib.com/a-year-into-my-first-internship/comment-page-1/#comment-155182 Thu, 19 Jun 2025 20:45:21 +0000 https://templeadlib.com/?p=26145#comment-155182 Michelle, hello! I wanted to start by stating that I really enjoy your article, especially the part about how you were nervous when you initially started your first internship but soon found comfort in having supportive coworkers. I went through this not too long ago, and it’s incredible how the right environment can significantly impact your development and confidence. The fact that you have been able to participate in actual projects with due dates and observe directly the results of your labor amazes me as well. I’m curious to know if your time at PAI has influenced the way you approach content development or storytelling. I’d be curious to know how that affected your creativity.

I relate to what you said about field interviews being unexpectedly eye opening. It really shifts how you think about storytelling in advertising.

I was very interested reading about your internship with the Blue Coats and 76ers this semester! I am a big Philly sports fan so it was definitely interesting to learn about your experience working with sponsors as a part of the game presentation crew. I definitely agree with your advice about being a sponge and soaking up as much knowledge as you can because it makes the experience more fulfilling and sets you up for success in the future.
