Designing the Housing Experience with Temple UHRL
My name is Jasmin Nguyen, and I’m a senior advertising major with a concentration in art direction. For the past year, I have been interning at Temple Housing and Residential Life as a lead graphic designer and helping with social media.
When deciding to attend college, one of the most significant factors of the experience is living on campus. In my role, I’m tasked with creating marketing materials that align with the university’s branding and promote the benefits of on-campus living. My designs play a crucial role in helping students and parents learn about campus living through informative and engaging materials such as guides and social media posts.
This internship has been a significant milestone for me, personally and professionally. Working with a diverse creative team, including designers, a social media coordinator, and a videographer, has allowed me to collaborate on impactful campaigns that resonate with our audience.
I owe a lot of my growth to my supervisor, Sean. His mentorship has been valuable, improving my design skills and shaping me into a more adaptable and confident designer. For those starting their internship journey, I recommend taking every chance to network and build relationships. These connections can help you navigate challenges and make the most of the opportunities that come your way.
