I really enjoyed reading this blog post. The title did bring my attention but as I read it it became very relatable. Making social media posts has changed my writing and my creativity has been limited. Trying to think out of the box is hard. Using AI has not been easy but hard because it’s changing our creativity.

You’ve got my attention! I loved your blog post and found a lot of what you wrote about really relatable. I feel like because internships are so hard to get and are seen as such a special experience in the college world, it can be tough to have a less-than-perfect experience. My first internship came with its own struggles, too, and I struggled even more with critiquing or allowing myself to critique my experience because I felt like I should just be grateful. So, I really appreciate your bravery in talking about such a seemingly taboo topic.
This semester, I was a social media intern as well. I personally had a good time, but my experience might have been different than yours. One thing I can relate to is the AI thing. It’s becoming such a crutch, and I often get down on myself for using it. I find the beauty of working in our field is being able to be creative for work, which is so cool. But at the end of the day, a job is a job, and you’re not going to feel creative every day, so I understand wanting to turn to our “AI buddy” once in a while.
I admire your perseverance, and I’m honored to read such a real experience about the internship world. You’re going to do great things! One of the great things about being a student is the ability to adjust, change, adapt, and grow. Good luck out there!

I absolutely loved your candor in this piece. It’s refreshing to hear some honesty about the reality of trying a new job or opportunity and finding out it’s not for you! Lindsay, this was so moving and powerful. If it makes you feel ANY better my eyes were glued to the screen without any distraction reading YOUR work. You are an excellent writer and even put my own thoughts and feelings into words. What a powerful message being conveyed. I loved every bit of this. I also relate to you about Chat GPT, it really has taken a toll on my creative thinking, and as advertisers it is hard because we are advised to use it. Before being introduced to Chat GPT I felt like a genius writing such moving pieces and thinking of filler words and synonyms, and as you said…. I feel all of these slipping through my brain. You definitely know how to tell a story and therefore your time has not been wasted. One amazing thing about this industry is learning and knowledge is limitless. Your experience overall may have given you the greatest outcome of them all, learning about yourself!
