It takes a lot of courage to challenge your comfort zone in pursuit of new ideas and unfamiliar environments, and you should be proud of that. I related to your experiences in needing to discover the dynamics of the sales process and its associated pain points. I also tend to think sales is one of the most seminal lessons you can learn about life and business. Not everything is sales- but most things certainly are, and a better understanding of what it feels like to make yourself vulnerable to rejection is a skillset that is useful and universally transferable in any industry.

First, congratulations on your internship position I also worked in sales for my internship. Right off the bat, I agree with you. Sales jobs are hard, there’s no way around it. It must have been super difficult not having a set of leads already generated for you. I also learned the same lessons working in sales, staying cool and calm was key for me when acquiring sales. Lastly, I agree that sales jobs are difficult but they’re rewarding so stay motivated Sean and I wish you the best with your future endeavors.

Respectfully,

Ryan
