Factory PR Internship in NYC!

This semester, I received an opportunity to intern at Factory PR in NYC.  As an advertising major here at Temple University, I went into this internship knowing very little about PR.  Through this internship, I am learning more ins and outs about the PR business and I am starting to enjoy my time here.  Although it is a tough business (YES! NYC is all about being fast paced) but I so far love it and is thinking about PR as my future career! My initial thought going into this internship was ‘I want to get to know fashion industry more.’ …

A New Beginning

Hi there my name is Katherine Caceres and I have started interning at the World Affairs Council in Center City Philadelphia. I have only been an intern for a couple of weeks now but  I really enjoy going into the office. I found this wonderful internship via the portal that the Fox School of Business has provided its students. Interning for the World Affairs Council has taught me a lot of responsibility. It has somewhat taught me what the real world will be like. I have to act professionally and dress the part as well. It has taught me also…

It’s really over – my internship at Stream Companies

As the semester is coming to an end, it is sad news to say that my internship is ended as well. The months completely flew by, but my experience at Stream Companies was great. I used a lot of programs and tools that were never introduced to me such as Google Ad words and Business Center, and pulled Google and Bing reports for client meetings. I also got to experience more Google Analytics, which I am confident in now. There was never a boring day in the office. Those internships where the interns just sit around playing with their thumbs,…

A Glimpse into the Owl’s Nest (Part II)

As I described in my last posting, my internship has not only entailed working in the Athletic Department itself but also helping out with in-game promotions during the men’s football, basketball and women basketball games. When I first came into this internship I did not know this was something I was going to get involved with but looking back on all my experiences I’m very glad it was something I got to participate in. When I worked within the games, I was mostly involved with organizing promotional activities. Activities included handing out food during the free student tailgate, getting students…

Last day at Allied-THA

Today was the last day that I interned for Allied-THA and my supervisor Chris Sammon. Throughout this internship I have been fortunate enough to learn many skills that I will use in my future profession. I’ve learned research tips, created contact lists, managed the company billing, purchased radio spots, and made some new friends. This internship was an amazing experience, and I’m glad I decided to do it instead of DEC. I really feel like I am more prepared for what I will be experiencing in only a few weeks. Although I won’t receive a job from this internship, due…

How Exit Philadelphia Opened My Eyes

My name is Steve Brydzinski, and I am an Advertising – Creative track – Major.  I was fortunate to get an Internship at Exit Philadelphia, a skateboarding retail store set in the heart of the Northern Liberties.  It’s been a heck of a fall semester, I have loved my time here as an intern and I can’t wait to continue working there throughout the spring semester as well.   Before landing this internship, I knew little to nothing about web design and developing.  Since starting there in September, I have gained so much knowledge in that area because I have…

Buzz From B101

Going into this internship, I was excited. I really wanted to explore the world of sales and I was very eager to learn. However, things changed and it turned out that, B101 would be needing a general intern and not a sales intern. I was a little bummed out at first because I really wanted to be in the sales department learning the ropes, however I soon realized that wasn’t going to make much of a difference because everything at the station revolves around the sales department. Every task, every event, every new idea was thought out and brought about…

What’s A Red Tettemer?

It’s a question I’ve heard once or twice before. After touring the agency in spring of my freshman year, I knew it was somewhere I wanted to be. And I didn’t hesitate to let people know. I’m Rachael Silverstein, by the way—a word-loving ad major/English minor in her senior year. And I’m currently a copywriting intern at Red Tettemer O’Connell + Partners. Landing the gig was somewhat of a crazy whirlwind. Despite being as obsessed with the agency as I was, it took three years and a semester abroad in Australia to really do anything about it. My favorite Aussie professor…

LinkedIn Tips for the College Student

Everyone I know has a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine; the list goes on. They’re necessary social platforms for the everyday college student. However, not enough of my friends have a LinkedIn. If you don’t know about LinkedIn, it is professional social networking. Basically, it is an online profile for your resume that helps get your name out to employers and your connections in order to build a digital network. If you don’t have a LinkedIn, make one now. I can attribute many of the job interviews and internships to the interactions I’ve had on the site. For those of you…

Philadelphia Design Home Event

One of my most recent projects at Barilotti Wealth Strategies was organizing an event for Philadelphia Design Home in Villanova, PA. One of my colleagues, Jeffrey Orleans, is the Chief Executive Officer of J.P. Orleans Development, LLC, and is a third generation homebuilder. Jeff is the developer of the design home so he bought the land, helped to design the home and hired the general contractor who worked with the others in order to build it. In fact, Jeff originally built the home with the intention of it being his, but later on decided to sell it. The networking event…

The End To A Dream Internship

Hi my name is Brian Greenblatt, I am a graduating Senior as of this Fall 2013 semester. I have been interning at a digital marketing agency called Fame House which is located on 2nd and Pine in Headhouse Square. Going into this internship it had been literally what I had dreamed for in the sense of finding a perfect internship. Being able to work in the music industry while also work with digital marketing was literally all I could ask for in an internship. Throughout this internship I’ve honestly learned more then I thought I would. Whether it be learning…

Finding My Way at M

Since the end of August, I’ve spent three days a week down on Church Street learning the inner workings of a small agency and getting a taste of what our professor’s have always been referring to as “the real world”. My time at M has been above all else, a challenging yet rewarding learning experience. As a creative, there are days where you feel like you did little to nothing, where you came up with zero ideas that seem even half-way decent. There was a time this semester when this really got to me. It even had me questioning if…
