Adding + Linking Images

Adding An Image within your Blog Post

Upload Image
Button for Inserting an Image

To add an image, locate “Upload/Insert” above the text editor and click on the first icon. A screen will come up within the current window prompting you to upload a file. Select the button and locate your image and wait for your image to be uploaded.

Click in the image to view fullscreen. This image was inserted with Alignment Left and size Medium with this text as the Caption and Link URL as File URL. Note that the size will depend on the size of the image that you upload, so your image medium may be larger or smaller than this image.

Once uploaded, a thumbnail for your image and some options will come up like in the image below. Select the appropriate size of the image you would like to upload and select alignment if your image will be inline with the content. For example, the sample image for this section is alignment left. You can also add an image caption here under Caption. You can also click “add link to image” if you want the image to link to a copy of the original sized image.  Once you have configured your image, click “Insert into Post.” If you do not click this your image will not be added to the article. Once inside the article you can drag the image to where you want it within the post (if it is in the improper location).

LINKING IMAGE TO AN OUTSIDE URL / or another BLOG POST:
The images you insert into posts are automatically linked to open at full size if a user clicks on the image. If you want the image to take the user elsewhere, to another URL or to another blog posting, enter that in the Link URL box and make sure to CHECK the box:  Open in another window (so the new site does not take the user completely away from AdLib)!
