The Beginning

Hey Guys!! I am more than excited to get this internship-ball rolling this summer. As the graphic design intern at Phillybass’d Entertainment, I have a bunch of projects in line for the summer that I am more than excited about. Logos, book covers, and brochures, OH MY! Besides expanding my Adobe Suite skills, working with clients and in a business setting is going to be rewarding!   Along with working on graphics and expanding my skills, the internship program at Phillybass’d will allow me to learn how to use twitter and other social networks as marketing tools. Each intern…

Learning that everything truly does happen for a reason

At the beginning of this semester I accepted an internship doing door to door sales with campus special. Though it was a great opportunity, I quickly realized after day 1 how much I hated it and how miserable my summer was going to be if I stuck with it. I quickly looked around and found a graphic design internship with E.I. & Design Group in NorthEast Philadelphia. I couldn’t be more thankful and happy that I risked leaving my original internship for this current one. I am getting much hands on experience with package design, web design, print design, and…

8 Simple Steps to Succeed

Hello, my name is Ashley Leonard. I am an Advertising major at Temple University, focusing on the art direction. I have completed my internship at Shooters Inc, a production company on walnut street. I have had many tasks, big and small, during my two month internship. From cleaning the kitchen and restocking the fridge, to being on set for a commercial assisting wardrobe and assisting the producer, I have learned so much. I figured I would share some tips for future interns on how to succeed at their internships. 1. Always come into work with a bright smiling face, come…

Philadelphia 76ers Intern

Hello all I got the amazing opportunity to intern for the philadelphia 76ers in the camps department. I started in early may and came in beyond scared. I wanted this internship so badly, I applied for months before I actually got the position. I always knew that this was what I wanted and needed to get my foot in the door in pursuing my dream of working for the NBA. Coming in and meeting the director for the whole basketball camps was…..scary. He is a very stern and strong individual, at first I was scared to even talk to him,…

The Focus Groups of FPG

Since my last update I’ve moved from re-wording and re-posting material to posting it on my own, which doesn’t necessarily add any difficulty to the assignment, it just gets rather time-consuming.  I’m now posting on six different sites where Focus Pointe Global has an online presence anywhere between five and twenty-five times a day.  I wouldn’t call it a terribly heavy burden of responsibility but I would point out that it’s kept me on my toes knowing that any mistake I make reflects on Focus Pointe.  I’ve included an example of a Twitter post, which is the easiest since there…

Ryan Mackey Beach Tennis USA

As an intern at Beach Tennis USA, I have many responsibilities, duties and challenges I deal with daily. My main duty on the job is to promote beach tennis. Calling camps and schools is very important for our business. Once our company gets into a camp or school it allows more kids and parents to see the sport first hand and see how fun it is. Once kids find out how much they enjoy the sport we can then focus on getting those families interested their own beach tennis nets in their own backyards. I play a big role in…

A Summer of Experience

Keystone Funding, a mortgage and realty group has introduced me into a new level of business knowledge, something I feel can never be taught in a classroom. I have spent about half my summer interning here and I can truly say I enjoyed the experience. On my first day, I was very nervous, I did not know what to wear or how the company members were going to treat me. I put on a smile and was ready to take on anything. Luckily they are extremely nice here and made me feel apart of their team within the first week.…

Honored and Humbled.

This summer in Dallas under the Marcus Graham Project has been INSANE! First I would like to state that if you ever told me that I would do everything I did this summer a year ago, I would have never believed you. Over the past eleven weeks I have met people from Wieden + Kennedy, BSSP, Y&R, and have written ads that will be produced and pushed globally. I am truly honored and humbled to be a part of such a great experience and meet so many people from all over the world. I suggest that every ethnically diverse person…

Yesterday I Sold My First Campaign

This is my last day as the Interactive Production intern for Saatchi & Saatchi’s Team One in Los Angeles, California. I have had an amazing experience this summer and I am so sad to be leaving. My mentor Evan was amazing, she was so helpful and informative; it would not have been the same experience without her. In addition to my day-to-day activities and projects as an Interactive Producer, the seven interns at Team One were given an intern project. We were split into two groups to compete against each other to create a campaign for one of the pro-bono…

Changing Perspectives Through Experience

Throughout the past few months, I have been interning full-time at Evoke Health, an advertising agency that deals with pharmaceutical companies. I came into this experience, hoping to learn more about the account executives and the sort of work that they do on a daily basis. However, as my work began to progress, I became more and more drawn to the research aspect of this industry. I have worked with several different brands, all of whom are extremely professional and inspirational. In the first few weeks, I followed them and ask question after question about how they keep their work…

Hands On

Today is beginning of my 5th week at Keystone Funding. I am really enjoying the reality of the business setting that surrounds me. I arrived today at the office at 9:00 AM to begin my task. Every Monday I update Keystone Funding’s bank turn times to inform their clients when a new loan cycle has began. At keystone funding, they do a lot of purchase and refinances, I must make sure all of these lead clients have direct contact with the CEO of Keystone funding, or the Vice president, Chris. The call volume here at Keystone funding is extremely high.…

The final week/my final thoughts

So this is the last week of my internship at E.I. & Design Group, and I couldn’t have asked for more of a learning experience than what I gained here during the summer. The coolest part about my internship was that I was given the opportunity to create a complete brand identity for a product, including logo, package design, tags, you name it. Just last week I was able to hold the physical samples of work in my hand, and it was one of the most rewarding feelings ever. I realized that this is what I want to be doing…

A New Chapter at Coyne Chemical

As our summer winds down, mornings get chillier, our days longer, I reflect on the summer internship I spent being part of the Coyne Chemical family. This summer I had the opportunity to work at one of oldest family-owned chemical company; George S. Coyne Chemical Co., Inc. Coyne opened my eyes to opportunities available in the real world, such as the fun, exciting, inspirational, and professional world of chemicals. Starting this fall, I am going to be a senior at Temple University working on my advertising degree (concentration in Research). I have already learned so much at Temple University that…
