Confidence will last longer and prove more valuable than any work experience. Use your confidence to ask questions and not be afraid of messing up.

It's always a question at every holiday, "What do you want to do?", does anyone actually know the answer?

I was hired as the Student Graphic Designer at the Temple University Small Business Development Center.

This semester I have had the wonderful opportunity to intern for THIS IS IT NETWORK for a fellow Temple University professor, Cheldin Barlatt Rumer.

I started my search for internships last year on LinkedIn and was overwhelmed by the process of finding a suitable option. There were thousands of internships available, but I wanted to ensure that the one I chose resonated with me, my skills, and my ambitions. I was lucky enough to find just that.

At CHOP, our mission drives all that we do. When I began at CHOP, I quickly learned that each person has a different 'why?" behind working at the institution and it was clear to me that I wanted to hear as many stories as I could during my time on the team.

For recent immigrants and international students like us, getting our first internship is a huge accomplishment and a pivotal moment in our lives.

Good energy goes a long way and makes working with the team so much more enjoyable.

My one piece of advice would be to never give up on finding an internship that aligns with your interests and goals - it may seem challenging, but it’s worth it in the end.
