The Flavorful world of The Morris Restaurant’s Internship

Hello everyone, my name is Tiana Bunch; I recently graduated from Temple University with a B.A. in Advertising with a concentration in Copywriting. Today I am excited to share my experience as an intern at the marvelous and historic Morris Restaurant. I have the privilege of learning about the restaurant industry. Combining my passion for writing with the culinary arts taught me that the restaurant business is unpredictable, and things sometimes go differently than planned.

I have gained insights into the restaurant industry during my internship at the Morris Restaurant. One of the key lessons was how meetings are conducted in the culinary environment. Meetings play a significant role in setting the tone for how the operation functions, along with the creativity and standards of the customer experience. The meetings that were held included different team members such as the Head chef, restaurant manager, waiters, waitresses, bartenders, and the social media team on the restaurant’s operations and how to advertise the restaurant. The social media team tries to work with the Head Chef and bartender to prepare the food and drinks for display so that food and drink photos can be posted on the website and other marketing materials. In creating appealing advertising photos that present dishes or beverages, the main issue is the visual representation of the restaurant’s cultural identity. The social media team discussed ways to spread awareness about the restaurant by using posters, flyers, and a website to market the restaurant. Also, to promote the restaurant to gain attention was to have a friends and family event that would promote the restaurant as well with free food and drinks.

While in the meeting, we also discussed marketing trends and the latest American food trends to help increase sales. In contrast, others suggested establishing a restaurant with an excellent reputation, good food, and fine dining.

In conclusion, I am thrilled to announce that the long-awaited opening of the Morris Restaurant is just around the corner, scheduled for the end of June. Reflecting on my internship experience at this beautiful and historic establishment, I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such an extraordinary team. From the exhilarating process of writing creative briefs and designing captivating flyers to conducting SWOT analyses and creating mock up websites, every moment has been a valuable learning experience. The Morris Restaurant promises to become a cherished destination where culinary excellence meets rich history and timeless charm. So please mark your calendars, join us, and celebrate the grand opening of the Morris Restaurant as we embark on a culinary journey that promises unforgettable moments and delectable flavor
