Confessions of an Intern
Internships have their ups and downs but you will always be able to take something away with you. I currently have an internship as a content creator for a television network and, as we are ending the semester, I can say that it is not what I thought it would be. My duties as an intern include creating social media posts for multiple platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. However, the company I am interning for is fairly new, which comes with a lot of learning. I’m someone who thrives on being organized, however, I can say that this internship has taught me to stray off of the beaten path and find new ways to be creative with my content. Before my internship, I was under the impression that there would be a posting schedule as well as a recurring theme to help the feed aesthetic. In my internship, some aspects must be on every post but I think it would be beneficial to have a weekly goal on what we are hoping to promote. Overall, I did learn a great deal with this internship and I can take away what I have learned and apply it to my future internships. As someone looking for an internship, I recommend trying out small and large companies to see what you like but to have both under your belt for your resume and future career.
