Inside the Fast Lane: My Internship at Fallen Media

Interning at Fallen Media showed me just how fast, creative, and collaborative the world of short-form content really is. I learned how shows get made, how brand deals work, and what it feels like to be part of a team that creates culture every day.

This semester, I interned at Fallen Media, a company that has mastered the process of turning short-form content into full-on storytelling. From the first moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in the engine room of the internet. The energy is constant, ideas never cease, and every day feels like building something new.

What This Experience Taught Me

I now know that nothing is an accident here. Even the shortest-form videos have strategy, collaboration, and thought behind them. It showed me the true art involved in fast-moving media when I saw how producers, editors, talent, and brand teams come together.

Finding My Focus

I always liked production, but this internship made me realize I want to do it seriously. Seeing producers manage shoots, guide the talent, and bring ideas to life just got me so excited to do the same kind of work long-term.

What I Found

There were many pleasant surprises. It’s an extremely collaborative team: people trust each other, share ideas openly, and really want to make the best work possible. I also met people whose creativity pushed me to think bigger and be bolder.

It wasn’t exactly what I expected. It moved faster, it was more hands-on, and I learned more by doing than I ever thought I would.

What I Wish I Had Done Differently

I wish I had asked more questions sooner. It turns out that everybody is open and willing to help; the more curious I was, the more I learned.

Advice for Future Interns

Be present. Speak up. Stay flexible. Creative work moves fast, and the more you put in, the more the experience gives back to you. Don’t be afraid to offer ideas or admit you need help.

What I Gained

I walked away with a better understanding of how modern media companies work and what goes into the creation of content at a high level. More importantly, I left knowing this is a world I want to keep building in. Fallen Media didn’t just teach me new skills. It gave me direction.
