Interning at SEOM Interactive: Digital Marketing at a Local and National Level
My internship at SEOM was an amazing opportunity to learn about digital marketing tactics and was even more rewarding by the supportive and knowledgeable team.
Hi, Everyone! I’m an Advertising major at Temple University on the Brand Strategy & Research and Media Planning tracks. I’m currently a digital marketing intern at SEOM Interactive, a Bucks County based agency that specializes in search engine and digital marketing. The company uses strategies such as PPC advertising, search engine optimization, social media marketing, email marketing, and public relations. I began interning with SEOM in May of 2025 and have been with them since! I’ve gained many skills and have learned different digital marketing approaches.

When I began searching for internship opportunities for the summer of 2025, SEOM was recommended to me through a friend. I was able to connect with the hiring manager via LinkedIn, and we scheduled a meeting time to discuss my interest in the internship. However, my interview process was a bit unconventional because of both being recommended to apply and being abroad while doing so. I wanted to grow my skills relating to digital marketing and understand specific tactics used to enhance companies’ online presences.
As previously stated, I’m a digital marketing intern primarily working on SEO strategies on national clients. I’ve worked on multiple projects throughout my time at SEOM, some notable tasks being link building, local page creation, and Google Business Profiles. Each month, I cycle through these tasks to help grow the clients’ presences on search engines.
Link building is an important task to help identify who is competing under the same or similar keywords. This helps us stand out on directory sites to match our target audiences’ inquiries with our clients’ services.
I’ve built many different types of webpages during my internship, from product, service, and frequently asked question pages, but local pages are some of the more interesting pages. The local pages I build exist mainly on our client Decorating Den Interiors, a national interior design company. Though this is a national company, there are many different small businesses that exist within the parent company.
Local pages help the search engine identify the smaller areas the client serves. To do so, I research the area and create an about the town section and a town resources section. When creating the title tags and meta description, keywords that show the search engine the location and service provided are necessary. Another task that is important in the SEO process is Google Business Profile (GBP). Creating a strong GBP is important to help our client have a standout spot on the search engine results page. Using tactics like showing location, phone number, images, services, products, community posts, and social posts helps our clients stand out among competitors.
My internship at SEOM Interactive was an opportunity to grow personally and professionally. I was able to work alongside a supportive team who were eager to share their knowledge and provide advice. Through hands-on experience in digital marketing, I contributed to helping national clients strengthen their online presences. The mentorship and encouragement I received were truly highlights of this internship and I’m happy to have had the chance to grow my skills in SEO and digital marketing.
