My experience as an Intern for What a Crock
Hello, my name is Kirstin Doogan and this past semester I had the pleasure of interning with What a Crock. Unlike many other positions that have been shifted to a virtual platform, during the COVID-19 pandemic, this internship provided an in-person experience. What a Crock is a family-owned business that has grown over the years due to a rapid increase in demand. The company specializes in crock pot dishes in an effort to “easify” meals; saving time and energy for their customers. The company’s main products include entrees, soups, dips, and desserts. They are an evolving company with a growing brand recognition throughout the country.
Since January, I have become very knowledgeable in various aspects of the company and have learned how to utilize several new software programs; some of these include: Hootsuite, Shopify, and ShareAsale. My daily tasks included creating social media posts, labels for packaging, flyers for their retails stores, and website landing pages. Not only was I assigned to make creatives throughout the many softwares on Adobe Creative Cloud, I was also able to do some work in customer service. While in this role, I was expected to respond to customer reviews/emails, and answer questions for customers on live chats. These tasks helped me improve my interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
I am grateful for the experience with What a Crock and am pleased to say that I will begin working with them full-time in the Fall. I look forward to being with the company as they continue to evolve, but most importantly, I am eager to improve my skills and techniques in this industry.
