Hi everyone!
I’m excited to share my experience as an Operations Intern with C&M Legal Search, a legal recruiting firm. I started this internship during the summer, and am continuing it throughout this fall. C&M Legal works to place legal professionals with different firms and companies across the United States, whether that is temporary or permanent roles. I genuinely had no idea what to expect when I first started, but it’s been a positive experience and I’ve learned so much since!
Experience
As an Operations Intern, my main responsibilities include managing candidate/ company information and creating social media content for their LinkedIn account. This fall, I am also working on creating UTM links to track user engagement, writing blogs, and cleaning up the company’s database.
Although this internship is fully remote, it is a highly collaborative environment. I communicate with my team daily through either email or Google Chat. One of the most positive aspects of this experience has been getting hands-on experience in a professional setting. I do work similar to that of my coworkers and I feel like I am part of the company. I am grateful to have team members who’ve helped train me on how to do operations tasks and show how they go about creating social media posts. It’s been incredibly helpful to have people who can assist and share their expertise with me.
At my internship, my workload varies depending on how many tasks come in that day, so some are busier than others. Because of this, this experience has taught me how to manage my time effectively and prioritize certain tasks.
Positive Aspect
Before this internship, I had no knowledge about the recruiting field but have learned a lot since I started. I see how the hiring process works and the steps that go behind every placement. It’s been rewarding to see how our work on the Operations team directly helps keep recruiters organized, while they work on getting candidates places for roles they’re looking for. This internship has also taught me that I would like to work in a fully remote setting and has given me a deeper understanding of what kind of career I would like to do in the future. I’m grateful to be part of a team of professionals who are not only knowledgeable but also kind and supportive.
