My experience so far
I have interned at the World Affair’s Council for about two months now and I have really enjoyed working there. I have learned a lot about myself and how crucial my internship is to WAC. Just recently we had an event at the Jefferson University in which many people attended including a congressman. As soon as I arrived at the event there was a schedule of events specifically for me. My help during the event made the overall event go as smoothly as possible even though my tasks may not have been major. I have also learned that it is okay to ask questions and to become comfortable and not nervous while interning. By being comfortable, I was focused during every task assigned and was able complete these tasks efficiently and effectively. I am more determined to particularly have the other employees know who I am. I am usually very busy during my internship hours that I don’t have the time to leave my desk. I have discovered that I enjoy working at a nonprofit organization considering this is my third internship with a nonprofit organization. I have met many who have inspired me. A requirement of my internship is to attend the speaking events. At these speaking events there are many CEO’s who speak about their success. This experience is everything I thought it would be. I have gained the ability to trust myself when making important decisions.
