Redefining What It Means to Measurably Thrive In The Social Space.
During my final semester at Temple University, I’ve been working and learning as the Social Media Marketing Intern at CSC Strategic Consulting. The company was founded by CEO Chelsea Cooper, a high-level marketing professional, to create innovative work in an important field. The company is an all-service Advertising, Marketing, and Consulting Agency. Clients have ranged everywhere from Lululemon Athletica to Good Culture, bringing in a variety of brand strategies.
After holding multiple internships within the creative marketing space, I was ready to transition to the agency side of advertising. It’s been more than rewarding beginning this journey with CSC Strategic Consulting. Currently, I work on a team with three account executives with clients Navy Hill, Leap Retail, Newmans Own Foundation, and EQUII. My day-to-day ranges from working on client decks, scheduling content, working on partnerships, and helping out with the entire process. CSC, and my team especially, has provided a learning environment but has also given me a voice to share opinions and ideas.
Looking back on how far my work has improved makes me extremely proud and confident in my abilities. Instead of criticizing my work and fixing mistakes themselves, my team gives me constructive feedback and is patient until I get it right. I’ve found that this type of work structure works best for me and makes me want to improve my work before I submit it. I’ve also learned the importance of a company that values constant communication. My team is always chatting on Slack and sharing inspiration on social media channels. Constant communication has built my confidence, trust, and willingness to participate in the internship.
My advice to interns is first and foremost be confident in yourself! Facing imposter syndrome is extremely real when beginning an internship, no matter your level of experience. “Believe in yourself, your abilities, and your own potential. Never let self-doubt hold you captive.” Confidence will last longer and prove more valuable than any work experience. Use your confidence to ask questions and not be afraid of messing up. You never know what question will spark an impression on your boss. A work place should value you, all of your questions, and everything you have to offer. Lastly, enjoy your time as an intern, college goes by in the blink of an eye!
I am beyond grateful to CSC Strategic, my past internships, and Temple University. Klein has been beyond supportive when helping me succeed in my internships.
