Spoiler: I Actually Love Hitting Post
From drafting to seeing content go live, my internship at Frequency reminded me why I enjoy creating posts that engage and connect.
Throughout my internship at Frequency, I’ve been working as a Content Creator & Social Media Intern for a company dedicated to designing indoor environments that help people feel good, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Frequency blends science, design, and storytelling to promote wellness through thoughtful spaces, and my role has been to translate that mission into engaging content across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Under the guidance of Frequency’s Creative Director, Karissa Mollicone, this internship has provided me with the opportunity to apply my advertising and social media skills in a real and meaningful way. As someone who is passionate about creativity, aesthetics, and wellness, this experience felt like the perfect intersection of everything I care about.
What This Experience Taught Me
This internship taught me something huge: I’m capable of anything I put my mind to. I’ve always felt deeply about the things I care about, but working at Frequency has shown me that this is a strength, not a flaw. Passion fuels good work, especially when your job asks you to be creative, thoughtful, and intentional.
I also learned that I’m much more driven and adaptable than I realized. Whether it was refining a content calendar or remaking a Reel until the timing felt perfect, I learned how committed I am to creating work I’m proud of.
Discovering What I Really Love
I’ve always loved social media, but this internship helped me realize what part I actually enjoy the most: planning posts and seeing them go live.
There’s something so satisfying about taking an idea, turning it into a post or Reel, and watching it live on a platform where people can engage with it. It’s immediate, creative, and rewarding!
This experience made me even more excited about creating content that connects, inspires, and looks good while doing it. Posting, watching it reach people, and learning what resonates, it’s the best part of social media for me.
The Best Parts of Working at Frequency
One of the biggest positives at Frequency is the culture. Everyone is kind, respectful, and genuinely passionate about mental/physical wellness, as well as their roles. Being in an environment where people genuinely care about what they do and the people they work with makes everything better.
Even though the internship is remote, our weekly team meetings, feedback sessions, and brainstorming calls always felt collaborative and supportive. When you’re surrounded by people who believe in their work, it’s easy to do your best.
Advice for Anyone Starting Their First Internship
If you’re preparing for your first internship, here’s what I learned:
- Go in with an open mind, an open heart, and (most importantly) an open mindset.
- Ask questions, even the ones you think are “dumb.” They aren’t.
- Be ready to learn anything and everything. Sometimes the smallest bits of knowledge end up being the most valuable.
- Let yourself evolve. Growth takes time, but it’s worth it.
Internships are about absorbing experiences, not being perfect from day one!
Looking Ahead
My internship at Frequency allowed me to blend creativity and digital storytelling, two things I love. It helped me build confidence in my skills, sharpen my creative instincts, and reaffirm my passion for social media management and content strategy. I’m grateful for every brainstorming session, every Reel edit, and every moment spent learning how to communicate Frequency’s message of wellness through design. This internship didn’t just teach me skills for my career; it helped me grow both professionally and personally. I’m forever grateful for the experience and everything I’ve learned.
