The Beginning of the End
The start of August marks the end of my internship at SAY Media in New York City. I have spent the better part of my summer living and working in New York, it will be sad to leave it all behind. Even though my time is coming to an end that does not mean business is slowing down. The office is still bustling and there is always something to do.
Just last week the office was under construction to add more desk space for the always increasing staff of the company. This was good news for me because I was granted a new desk, name tag included!
Over the past three months I have gotten to see this company combat challenges, overcome them, succeed and have fun together. As corny as it may sound, the SAY office is similar to a big family. I’ve grown to become friends with many of the office staff. We have fun together, flying a remote control helicopter through the office, enjoying work sponsored happy hours–to “increase employee morale,” and take advantage of free food Fridays for lunch.
This was a great internship to kick off my professional development. Being part of a team and being able to apply what I have learned in the classroom has helped to affirm my decision to get into the advertising industry. I will look fondly on my time at SAY Media.
