The Magazine Vol. 2

Interning at Philadelphia Style Magazine,  can be a lot of work at times, but does come with perks. For the past month or so we have been putting together everything needed for the May/June issue of the magazine. This issue has the actor, Jason Statham, on the cover. How Philadelphia Style picks its cover models is by choosing a celebrity that has something to do with our fine city of Philadelphia. This may be anywhere from growing up in the area to working in it. Jason Statham recently finished shooting his new movie Safe, which has many scenes shot in Philadelphia.

As an intern I was asked to come to the cover party event and help with some set up and checking people in. This was pretty cool because along with  it being a cover party for Jason Statham it was also a premiere for his new movie. This was a great event to work and a lot of fun. One of the reasons this is such a perk is because much time is spent behind a desk and on the phones during the normal business hours, but having the opportunity to promote the magazine in a different way, like these cover parties, allows me to see how much all of that work pays off. Not even just for those that work for the magazine, but also the readers. It is very rewarding to be able to see first hand what this magazine means to so many people.
