Turning My Passion into a Portfolio: My Internship at Temple Athletics
As a freshman at Temple University, I’m thrilled to have landed an internship with the Temple Athletics department as a Creative Content Assistant. This role has not only allowed me to gain invaluable hands-on experience in the field of sports media, but it has also provided me with the opportunity to build meaningful connections with my talented peers.
One of the most rewarding aspects of this internship has been the chance to collaborate with a team of passionate and hardworking students like myself. Together, we’ve worked tirelessly to capture the excitement and energy of Temple’s various sports teams through a variety of media, including photography, videography, and graphic design. Whether we’re filming a game-winning touchdown or capturing the camaraderie of the team during practice, the creative process has been both challenging and immensely fulfilling.
Moreover, this internship has allowed me to delve deeper into the creative side of sports media, which has always been a particular area of interest for me. By working closely with the Temple Athletics marketing and communications team, I’ve gained a newfound appreciation for the strategic and artistic considerations that go into crafting effective social media content and digital campaigns. From developing eye-catching graphics to editing compelling video narratives, I’ve expanded my skillset in ways that will undoubtedly benefit me as I continue to explore my career aspirations.
Looking ahead, I’m confident that the connections and experiences I’ve gained through this internship will serve as invaluable assets as I prepare to enter the workforce upon graduation. The opportunity to build a robust portfolio of creative work, coupled with the chance to network with industry professionals, has been truly invaluable. As I continue to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of sports media, I’m grateful for the solid foundation that this internship has provided, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
