From Keywords to Confidence: What I Learned at SEOM Interactive

When I first stepped into my internship at SEOM Interactive, I knew I was excited to dive deeper into the world of digital marketing—but I didn’t expect to walk away with so much clarity, growth, and gratitude.

SEOM Interactive is a boutique digital marketing agency based just outside of Philadelphia that specializes in SEO, PPC, and social media strategy. From day one, I felt welcomed into a team that was not only sharp and skilled but also supportive, funny, and collaborative. My manager, Noah Horas, made every project feel purposeful. He always took time to answer questions, offer feedback, and empower me to think critically—especially when I was knee-deep in competitive analyses, SEO audits, or crafting optimized web pages for clients across industries.

One of the most impactful parts of this internship was being exposed to tools like SEMrush, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, and Looker Studio. I got hands-on experience pulling reports, finding content opportunities, and learning the “why” behind every SEO recommendation. Beyond technical skills, I grew more confident in client-facing communication, strategic thinking, and how to make data-backed decisions in fast-paced agency settings.

The leadership at SEOM truly stood out. Lyndsie Jones and Robert Spinrad foster a workplace culture where curiosity is encouraged, hard work is recognized, and interns are treated like real team members. Their guidance gave me a glimpse into what values I want in a future workplace: transparency, kindness, and drive.

Looking back over the last two semesters, I’m proud of how much I learned—not just about SEO, but about myself as a young professional. If you’re an advertising student wondering where to start, I can’t recommend SEOM enough. Be proactive, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to say, “I don’t know”—that’s where the learning begins.

This experience didn’t just shape my resume; it shaped my mindset. And for that, I’m incredibly thankful.
