My First Shoot!

My name is Allison and I recently started my Internship at MilkBoy Communications, which is located in Ardmore, PA.  This is my first time having any experience in the advertising industry and am so excited to see what it’s really like working in the field.

During my first week I was asked If I would be interested in going to a shoot that my co-workers were filming that night at Osteria. I was more than excited to attend and quickly replied, “yes, I would love to come!”  I had no idea what to expect and was eager to learn the steps.

The event that took place was a beer and cheese pairing with Flying Fish Beer and Di Bruno Bros.  It took a total of about 3 hours to set-up, film, and take down.  Being involved in the process from beginning to end was a great learning experience and I’m glad I was able to take part.  Check out the video and let me know what you think.

  1. This looks awesome! It’s so cool to say you were actually on the shoot! I’m interested to know what kind of work you helped out with while they were shooting. Also, were you involved in any of the videography of the 1st part of the clip? Since you posted this over a month ago I am also interested to know what other projects you had the opportunity to work on!
I am personally really interested in learning more about social media and online content, and I found that MilkBoy Communications does a lot of web design. How have the accounts they have and the type of work they do influenced your decision on what facet of advertising you’d like to pursue in the future?

    • Thanks Devon – I’m glad you liked it!
While they were shooting I was mostly there to observe how the whole process went and assist in small tasks like holding the sheet of questions that we wanted to ask while filming. I was not involved in the producing aspect of the video but I was able to help promote it, which I have found an interest in.
MilkBoy does a lot of interactive advertising for their clients, which has given me a better understanding of how it all works. This internship has helped me realize that I enjoy more of the account side of advertising. I am more of an organized person and like the responsibility of keeping track of tasks and researching relevant information for our clients.
What aspect of advertising do you feel you are leaning more towards? I see that you are interested social media and online content and am curious to know what you would like to do with that in your future?
