The Life of an Intern

pw

Looking back on my internship, I realized how much I have learned. What I thought was a terrible experience actually taught me everything that I needed. My first day was unforgettable. The woman that had given me my the internship and was supposed to be my mentor had decided to further her career at another company. As soon as I had heard the news I immediately starting panicking, I wasn’t sure what I would be doing now or if I would even still have the internship. But thankfully after talking to various people, i still had the internship for marketing just a new mentor. That situation taught me so much, in the advertising field change is something you will see everyday. People will move on to other companies or move to different departments.

Change is the norm.
Despite what happened on my first day, I have had the opportunity to see what it’s like to plan out an event with different clients and how to better market the company. A newspaper is so much more than its editorials, there’s client relationships and standards and deadlines that all have to be maintained and met. I’m looking forward to the weeks to come for this internship and the experience I’ll gain. 🙂

  1. I can totally relate to how often and how quickly things change in the advertising field! I’m glad you didn’t let your first day get to you because I could see how scary that could have seemed. You should take this experience as a confidence booster because it seems like a great one!

    • Wow! I can’t believe that happened on your first day. What a way to learn one of the biggest lessons about the advertising industry. It’s great to see though that you were able to overcome that moment of panic and have a great experience at your internship!
