A Semester of Learning
Hi, my name is Lindsey Seo, and I’m a senior advertising major at Temple University, concentrating in brand strategy and research. I had the pleasure of interning at Bravo Group as a Digital Marketing Intern for the spring 2024 semester.
Coming into this internship, I wanted to take it as a learning experience and a challenge to learn as much as I could to prepare me for the future. As a digital marketing intern, I worked on several projects, including social media, email campaigns, analyzing performance, pulling reports, and search engine optimization.
During my internship, I learned how to update websites, build and send emails, as well as organize and clean up data for reporting purposes. Additionally, I gained hands-on experience with various software platforms such as Mailchimp, WordPress, Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, and more.
While working on social media on a daily basis, I realized that I’m not as interested in pursuing this aspect of marketing in the future. However, I found a keen interest in research, SEO, and the analytical side of marketing.
One valuable piece of advice I would give to future interns is to ask a lot of questions, even if they may seem “dumb,” and to speak up if they find that their interests lie elsewhere and they want to work on a different project.
Overall, this internship has taught me a lot about marketing as a whole, but more importantly, it has taught me a lot about myself, how I work, and what I enjoy. It has strengthened my time management skills by allowing me to juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. I’m lucky to have experienced what it is like to work in such a fast-paced environment with hardworking individuals.
