Leaving in Grand Fashion
I feel like I know what I want to do with my career… it’s not a new feeling but, it’s stronger than ever before. Fortunately for me, I’m graduating from Temple in a week. I’m extremely anxious to make use of the time I’ll soon have, to concentrate on projects I’m actually passionate about. It wasn’t too long ago that I decided to declare my major in Advertising, in pursuit of work in a big-time agency. More recently, I’ve come to realize that the Madison Ave. life may not be what I need. More than an idea about how I’d fit into a team as an Account Manager, my courses have inspired in me, hopes of developing my own services and products, my own brand.
I started interning at Duke & Winston almost a year ago, an opportunity that was presented to me because of the Founder’s Temple roots. At D&W, I’ve found motivation through my hands-on work. Inspired by how this brand has grown, I’ve become very dedicated to my efforts here. Instead of dividing my attention between multiple brands and industries, I’m constantly thinking about how to promote D&W’s place in the fashion industry. Spectating and being involved in many different aspects of the company’s operations has contributed to my personal growth in a way that I didn’t find in my other internships.
Two years ago, I would not have imagined that I’d be in Fashion after graduation. Now, I intend to make a career out of what I got at Duke & Winston. I’ve finished school and here I stand, at the starting point.
