Marketing on Market
My name is Kaya O’Neill, and for my spring semester of my senior year at Temple University, I spent 12 hours a week as a Marketing and Leasing Intern at Stockton Real Estate Advisors. Stockton’s office is located in the heart of Philadelphia at the corner of 18th and Market Street.
I wasn’t sure what to expect on my first day at Stockton. I had little experience in real estate, but I’d read great reviews about Stockton’s internships from previous interns. What almost all of them mentioned was the kindness of the people who worked there.
Stockton is a small company. The office has only 20 total employees and is wide open, with desks faced and grouped together in a way that reminds me of my Kindergarten class. Their marketing department is entirely run by one person, but what’s inspiring is how all employees are encouraged to make suggestions and comments on marketing materials before posting, publishing, printing, etc. These comments and concerns are considered seriously, whether they come from leasing, the company’s president, or even me. The tight-knit community of Stockton’s office embeds a warmth in a corporate setting that can often feel sterile.
My internship with Stockton allowed me to reach a milestone in my (very new) Advertising and Marketing career. Under the guidance of Stockton’s Director of Marketing, Samantha Augugliaro, I designed an ad celebrating Stockton’s 20th anniversary. A week after, the ad was published on page five of the March 7th, 2025 edition of The Philadelphia Business Journal, my first published ad! I’m thankful and appreciative of Stockton’s belief in me as a designer and advertiser.
For those deep in the endless search for an internship right now, look for the right people. The people you work with is what’s going to make your time spent at a company enjoyable and lucrative. At Stockton, I’ve connected and been mentored by some inspiring people. I know when I look back, it will be them I remember most.
