My Summer Internship Working for SHRM

So far, I have learned a lot from this internship. This experience has taught me what real-world work environments are like which I never really experienced before. It comes with a lot of stress and things can be fast passed, but it is rewarding. The most positive aspect I got from this internship is how SHRM treats its workers. I feel very comfortable in the workplace and as if I can ask my managers any questions without any worries. The experience itself is not quite what I thought it would be. I came into the office thinking that all of my managers were going to be very strict about what I do at work. Although they are when they need to be, we also have moments that are fun with one another and not so serious, which I was not really expecting in the office. I’ve gained knowledge of how SHRM tries to target specific speakers to speak for their foundation, which is very similar to advertising classes I have taken, and it is very interesting to see it being used in real life. I really enjoy my internship so far and am excited for what the rest of the summer has in store
