Sports Marketing Dream Internship

My name is Angela Pavalko and this semester I had an incredible opportunity to intern with Comcast-Spectacor in the Complex Marketing department. As a complex marketing intern I was in charge of assisting the marketing staff with Wings Lacrosse, 76ers, and Flyers game day promotions. I also assisted all other Wells Fargo Center events, family shows, and concerts.

Through this internship I learned that it takes determination, long hours, and patience to work in the sports marketing and events industry. Through my experience I had the opportunity to attend the Cher and Arcade Fire fire concerts where I escorted the media for the events. Our marketing team ran all of the promotional events at every Wing’s home game. I also had the opportunity to be a part of the retirement of Allen Iverson’s jersey night and assist at various events and games for the Flyers through the season. When I was in the office the team of interns would work on writing press releases, editing stats, searching for video clips and contacts and doing market research.
