Status Reports and Saying “hello”
My internship at PerformRx (pharmacy benefit manager) is winding down and I only have a few weeks left. I have recently created a final list of projects that need to be completed before the end of the semester. Most of the smaller projects have already been finished, however I have a few projects left that I have been working on over the course of the semester that need some changes.
Each week I am required to submit a progress report with updates on each project. Similar to an agenda book for classwork, the progress report lets me know whether or not I’m falling behind on each project deadline. Each week I update the project status and am required to submit the project for review before I mark it as “completed” on the report. After completing my progress report for this week, I see that I only have 3 projects left to complete before my internship is over.
So far it has been a great experience as I have met a ton of wonderful people. Working with people from other departments has helped me to further sharpen my skills and make my work better in everyway. Branching out and talking with new people (even if they work on another floor in the building) has many advantages and I would recommend doing so to everyone. Networking is so important in today’s job world and you never know what doors could open just by saying “hello!” to someone new. Overall, I have had a great experience at PerformRx and look forward to what the future holds.
