A Facebook Campaign So Good, Facebook is Jealous.
I discovered this from the most excellent Ad Teachings– definitely a must follow for anyone on Tumblr.
SAS came up with an innovative way to get people to enter into their contest and provide free advertising. I love how they utilized Facebook’s formatting to their advantage (probably the same reason the contest shut down). Keep up the good work, SAS- FIGHT THE MAN!
Lots of brands wonder what to do with Facebook… this is a success story of a brand that knew just how to capitalize on this medium. Freely and well, socially! I guess facebook doesn’t like when a brand gets too many hits???? Have you found out more about why they were shut down, Phil?
I’ve seen this done on Twitter, but without a tangible promo attached. it was more so to show support for something by switching a profile pic for a while.
