Growing and Blossoming During Times of Uncertainty

I have learned so much over the past few months and excited to grow with the company!

I am so excited to share my journey over the past few months, but first I would like to introduce myself. I’m Nicole and I’m a junior advertising major with a concentration in brand strategy and research. I am addicted to coffee, obsessed with the beach and love alternative rock music.

For the past few months, I have been interning at the real estate investment firm, BG Capital. Their projects are focused in areas around the industrial, healthcare, multi-family, and mixed-use industries in the Philadelphia and South Jersey regions. It serves as a parent company to companies like Govberg Realty, which own multiple student housing complexes on Temple’s campus.  As a social media marketing intern, I am responsible for marketing new listings for properties, acquisitions, construction progress, press release announcements and project updates. Occasionally, I visit job sites and take professional photos for them to be advertised. Additionally, I reconstruct websites for new properties that BG Capital buys to make them look more visually appealing and user-friendly. This position was mainly remote in the beginning, but now I can go into the office whenever I choose.

I am currently planning a 9/11 fundraiser that BG Capital is hosting at one of its properties in North Wildwood. I am so excited to work on this project because of the amazing cause it’s for and to practice my event planning skills.

When I was first offered this position, I was very hesitant to accept it because of my lack of knowledge about the real estate industry. I knew this was going to be a totally new and different experience, and I was extremely nervous about it. Additionally, having a remote internship during times of COVID was a little unsettling. Despite all of that, I knew I had to take this amazing opportunity with this incredible company. I have already learned so much about real estate marketing and have met so many experienced people along the way. I am grateful for where I am at this point in time, and where I’m going in the future.
