My Time at Focus Pointe Global

Hi everyone!

My name is Yasony and I am currently interning at Focus Pointe Global as the marketing and social media intern for this spring! My time here is coming to an end in about a week and I must say, time has flown by very quickly. Four months have passed since I first started this position in January and I couldn’t be more thankful for being given this opportunity and being surrounded by such great people.

From the very first day, I felt so welcomed by everyone at the company, especially by my supervisors, Jamie and Tori, and the VP of Brand Communications, Charlotte. They created such a comfortable atmosphere for me and helped me settle in and adjust very easily. Not only were they three of the sweetest people I have ever met, they were also inspiring and I learned so much from them during my short time there.

As the marketing and social media intern, I had the responsibly of working to build and promote Focus Pointe Global’s panel of research participants. In other words, I was in charge of bringing in publicity for the research studies that were taking place at each of the 20 Focus Pointe Global facilities across the U.S. To do so, I was in charge of tasks such as posting on each city’s Facebook and Twitter account, creating content for both of the company’s Instagram pages, posting to Craigslist, making flyers, updating the opportunities to the focusgroup.comwebsite, and doing outreach.

In addition to these tasks, I also helped come up with ideas for client content for their focuspointeglobal.com website, ideas for their FPG Poll application, researched articles that could be posted to LinkedIn, and so much more. I even got to visit the Philadelphia facility at Two Logan Square a few times to talk to the participants and got a glimpse of how the focus groups were conducted.

I loved that this experience was so hands-on. I learned so much about the marketing research industry and was able to build upon my social media and communications skills. It was also such a pleasure to be included in the daily marketing meetings with Charlotte and have them be so open to hear the ideas and suggestions I had.

I can’t wait to see where these skills will take me in the future!
