Sharing the Love at Subaru

This campaign has taught me a lot about being an intern because I have been given so much opportunity to get involved with Share the Love.

I am a firm believer in giving my all, no matter what I do. That is why I feel like I fit in so well with Subaru. One of the many opportunities I have been given here is to work on the Share the Love campaign. This campaign is extremely valuable to EVERYONE in the company and I am so lucky to be involved.

This campaign is more than just about buying a car, it is about giving back to the community. Subaru partners with four national charities, Make a Wish Foundation, Meals on Wheels, he ASPCA, and the National Parks Foundation, as well as giving the option to each of the 635 individual retailers to partner with a hometown charity. Share the Love is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, which I am beyond grateful to be a part of. We began planning for this event right at the start of my internship in May, and I have worked on endless bits and pieces of the campaign leading up to November 16th, the official start date. This campaign has taught me a lot about why I should appreciate being an intern. I have done everything from organizing Excel spreadsheets with all mass amounts of data, to reviewing national assets such as TV, and even given full reign on setting up the building to show off the creative we prepared. I also was able to write the official announcement that whole company gets to see, and speaking with the COO of Subaru to provide him with data from Oracle. This year, we are going to have reached over $100 million in donations total since the start of the campaign, which is something the whole company is excited to see happen.

The reason this campaign means so much to myself and the company, is because of the true meaning behind it. The theme song “Put a Little Love in Your Heart” always brings a few people to tears. (commercial from 2016: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78z-xnLImFE) This campaign is truly about making the world a better place, and bringing the true meaning of Love to Subaru by giving back. This campaign has taught me a lot about being an intern because I have been given so much opportunity to get involved with Share the Love.

  1. Maxie, this is awesome! Working on a project like this that’s so well known by most everyone seems like a dream for anyone fresh out of, or still in college. I hope I’ll be able to get an opportunity as big as this sometime soon!
