My time at The Franklin Institute allowed me to bolster my copy writing craft and learn new skills in email marketing and Excel. My boss Ben Harmer assigned me projects that allowed me to put measurable metrics on my resume. These projects included creating a Google My Business social media post for the special exhibit, Vikings: Beyond the Legend, which is being viewed by over 3 million prospects per month. Composing 5 email blasts, each were sent to over 180,000 Franklin Institute subscribers. Writing social media ad copy viewed by the Franklin Institute’s 600,000+ Facebook and Twitter followers. My personal favorite project was naming The Franklin Institute’s promotional beer in partnership with 2SP Brewery, Franklin Fjord Norwegian Ale. Franklin Fjord Norwegian Ale is currently being sold in select center city bars and in beer distributors around the Philadelphia and Delaware County area. Overall my time at the Franklin Institute taught me many things and allowed me to greatly expand my portfolio. Despite working there as an unpaid intern it was difficult to walk out and say goodbye to the friend I made.
