Expanding My Horizons
As I wrap up the spring of my junior year of college at Temple University, I can’t help but feel as though the past couple of months have been a whirlwind propelling me into my ever-looming adulthood.
My realization that I am soon to enter the “real-world” quickly developed into my mission to soak up every bit of information possible while still in college. I began this mission by saying yes to more opportunities such as taking on extra projects, attending networking events, and most importantly looking for internships that focus on education. This is where SEER came into play.
After attending SEER’s Internship Open House event, I gained an immediate respect for the opportunities that SEER provides both its employees and interns.
At the open house, I realized that SEER wasn’t like other agencies. While of course they were putting on this event to inform potential future interns about the opportunities at SEER, that wasn’t their main goal. SEER was hosting this event to provide education and answers for young people looking to get into the digital marketing space. It was clear that the people at SEER were not there to waste anyone’s time, but rather to give them real knowledge that they could walk away with, if they so choose.
Seer Is The Real Deal
During my time as an intern at SEER I have only seen this culture unfold further. Upon arrival, I was provided with a wealth of resources to reference at my own leisure, as well as two weeks of one-on-one training sessions lead by various Account Managers. I remember feeling so impressed by the willingness of every person at SEER to take time out of their days to answer any questions that we may have had. During my trainings I got exposure to company processes and gained a holistic view of how things run at SEER.
After wrapping up my last few trainings, it was time to get into the real deal. My role as a Digital Marketing Intern at SEER meant that I got assigned to a client team to act as a Junior Associate on SEO and PPC. I was immediately welcomed onto the team as an important and valued member and I was given the flexibility to pursue client projects that I felt passionately about. Each week, I am included in client calls, 1:1’s, and I have the opportunity to present my findings to the whole team during our internal meetings. Working as a member of a real client team at SEER has been an incredible experience and a great opportunity to get exposure to client work in a low pressure environment among a supportive team.
Your Internship Is What You Make of It
I have found from my time at SEER that your internship truly is what you make of it. It takes passion, drive, and a willingness to take initiative in order to become successful both professionally and personally. SEER is a company that values education and offers a number of resources to help you learn and grow, but it’s still up to you to reach out and grab them.
With just 4 weeks left of my internship at SEER, my mission has shifted. Not away from educating myself, but towards diving deeper. To push myself out of my comfort zone and expand upon the knowledge that I am too embarrassed to admit that I don’t know. To throw caution to the wind, and to make the most of my time here.
If you are currently looking for an internship I encourage you to find a company that aligns with your values. SEER’s ideals of ETHIC (Enablement, Transparency, Humility, Intelligence, Collaboration) are a grounding reminder of what the company stands for and why it matters.
