My name is Diona Boler and I am currently the Marketing and Communications Intern for  Bucks County Visitation Center in their in-house tourism agency. This is my first experience working at an internship and in my first month of working I have completed a number of assignments that I have enjoyed taking on.

In my first weeks I gathered data and created spreadsheets collecting information on company partners and updating their information. I also began  editing and updating content on  to the ‘Visit Bucks County’ website via CMS (Content Management System) and updating and creating searchable channels for images using Barberstock. So far my position has been very copy heavy, which I will say being in Art Direction I was originally a bit intimidated by but I am extremely happy to say that two of the articles that I produced will be published in the next edition of ‘Well Seasoned’ magazine, one of VBC’s seasonal print publications that highlights local partner’s  in the Food and Drink industry. About a week ago I volunteered outside of work hours attending the ‘Philly Loves Beer’ fest and got the change to help promote our Bucks County Ale Trail. The event was very fun, people were excited and receptive to the promotion, and it was fun personally interacting with other vendors and mingling with the event’s attendees .

Right now I have just begun working with the Buck’s County Library Badge program, which is reminiscent of Boys/Girls scouts where kids are given a list of activities to learn about their communities and complete a list of task for a badge. I will be producing copy for the activities and designing badge design ideas for the fall/winter season activities.

Considering my short time here I feel very excited about my pushing my potential with the company and gaining confidence in the content I am producing. Everyone in the marketing department is very helpful and receptive to new ideas, give very good constructive criticism and the positive work environment makes me very excited for the future of my internship with VBC.
