SEPTA’s New Campaign

Hello all, I am Austin Heron and I’m a senior advertising major with a current internship at Harmelin Media.  Harmelin Media is located just outside of Philly in Bala Cynwyd.  I have been a media planner intern since January and so far it’s been great.  I am working with a Media Planner assistant on a new upcoming campaign for SEPTA which is aiming at a much younger audience.  The target audience is 18-34 and the goal of the campaign is to get young people to become comfortable with using SEPTA to take them anywhere they need in Philly and the surrounding suburbs.  Our strategy for doing that is by having SEPTA sponsoring concerts, music events, and advertise heavy on the younger demographics’ radio stations (104.5 and 96.5).  We are also working with the idea of incorporating social networking into this campaign by having contests for people who ride SEPTA and post their commutes onto Facebook and twitter.  This campaign is still in the beginning stages but so far I feel like this is going to be a very successful run for both SEPTA and Harmelin Media.
