Watching Your Work Come To Life

Working in a smaller more intimate setting has allowed me to take on large responsibilities, which, in the end, has allowed me to really expand and improve upon my creative skill set.

Over the course of the past 4 months, I have had the privilege of being able to work hands-on with many exciting clients and projects. As a creative, there are few things more rewarding than seeing your work living in a public place or a digital setting.

Deux Wave animation studios takes on a lot of projects designed around their own signature style and look, which is highly sought after by musicians and TV networks. I was lucky enough to be trusted with character design for an Instagram TV ad, storyboard sketching for an Adult Swim animatic ad for the movie Tag, and cel animation for Deorro’s stage visuals at Coachella.

Here are some screen shots of frames from the animation and Deorro’s actual live set at Coachella this past weekend.

As an art direction major who does not plan to work in advertising, I have felt very much at home working with the people of Deux Wave animation studios. Working in a smaller, more intimate setting has allowed me to take on large responsibilities, which, in the end, has allowed me to really expand and improve upon my creative skill set.

  1. Charles,
As someone who has been following your work since Sophomore year, I’m SO stoked to see that you landed at a place that allows you to flex your genuine style and aesthetic! You and I were both in the graphic design program at Tyler and felt a bit out of place. I think it can be tough for any creative to try and wedge their graphical style into a place that just doesn’t fit. THIS, however, is the perfect compliment to your work’s illustrative, psychedelic vibe! Dunkel equipped with animation skills….sheesh. You are now a force to be reckoned with. I am excited to continue to watch your work grow in complexity!

    Cheers mate,
    Nick Rose
